Industrial robot arm and cobot integration
Industrial Robot Arm and Cobot Integration: Precision and Flexibility on the Modern Production Line
In Industry 4.0 manufacturing models, robotization is no longer the privilege of large companies, but a basic requirement for sustainable and competitive production. Our engineering team in Jászberény has decades of experience integrating cutting-edge industrial robot arms and collaborative robots (cobots) into custom-designed machines and production cells. Our goal is to reduce scrap rates, minimize downtime and create a more ergonomic, safer and more attractive working environment for operators by automating monotonous, physically demanding or dangerous tasks.
Industrial robot or Cobot?
Every manufacturing process has its challenges, so as step zero in the design process, we help you select the technology that best suits the task:
- Traditional industrial robot arms: Heavy-duty, extremely fast and precise devices that operate in enclosed, fenced cells. Ideal for moving heavy parts, high-volume robotic welding or high-speed packaging tasks.
- Collaborative robots (cobots): These robots no longer need to be “caged”: thanks to their design and built-in sensors, they can work safely in the same space with human workers without physical separation. They can be flexibly reprogrammed and easily relocated, making them perfect for small and medium-volume, frequently changing production processes, fine assembly work and quality control.

The robot integration process at Konkoly Electro
For us, robotics is not about selling boxed products. We offer turnkey engineering solutions tailored exclusively to existing manufacturing environments, ranging from mechanical design to PLC and robot programming and CE certification.
- 3D simulation, digital twin and robot access testing: In the design phase, we use Visual Components software to design and simulate manufacturing processes. The continuously updated software contains more than 2,000 3D intelligent models of manufacturing equipment and robots, with which we can create digital twins of the designed equipment. With this technology, we model robot access and perform collision testing before physical construction.
- Design of custom grippers (End-of-Arm Tooling): A robotic arm is only as effective as its hand, its end, is suitable for the task. With our own CNC machining centers and design engineers, we create durable and precise grippers, screw heads or welding torch holders optimized for the given part for the task.
- Synchronization of PLC and robot programming: During the integration, we ensure that the robot arm and the Safety PLC controlling the cell work in perfect harmony, guaranteeing deterministic evaluation and real-time transfer of data to enterprise management (MES/ERP) systems.
For what tasks do we recommend robotization?

We successfully integrate robots into our systems to solve a wide variety of industry challenges. Just a few examples:
- Automating manual work phases: Precise execution of various screwing, packing (Pick & Place), packaging and inspection tasks.
- Welding technology: Integrating robotic welding into production lines for maximum seam quality and repeatability.
- Integrated quality control: The robotic arm, combined with industrial camera systems (machine vision), can also function as a complex, spatial testing station, even in combination with other functions, with immediate rejection and data recording.
Targeted robotization increases production volume, reduces error rates, and reduces capacity losses caused by labor shortages. By eliminating repetitive steps, the given task becomes more attractive to colleagues.
